Round The Clock Support
24 hour support of chemically dependent residents via our sober
home. Residents will learn to live with the help and guidance of a 12
step program, as they learn to walk with Christ through their recovery. . Residents will have access to our professional staff at all times, including a seasoned mental health professional, Director of Counseling Services Jennifer Hudnall. Jennifer has an M.A in
counseling, and a background in chemical dependency and the
support of those with similar issues
Accountability
Residents will be expected to be employed, clean and sober
(residents will be screened for drug and alcohol use at a minimum of
once every 7 days, and immediately upon returning from any
earned pass), and act as a member of our residential family.
(Specifically, all chores will be divided among the residents.) For
those not employed, job related activities will be performed, and for
those that are not working community services will be performed
(helping the homeless, volunteering at churches, AA groups, etc .)
12 Step Services
Members of AA, NA, CA as well as Celebrate
Recovery are all part of the Sober By Grace support team! They will be carrying the message on a weekly basis! The meetings they bring will be either Big Book studies, or they
will be of the "guest speaker" variety, and will share their
experiences with recovery. Specifically, where they started, how
they got clean and sober, how they stayed clean and sober, and
where they are now.
Our more senior residents will be expected to carry the message
outside of the Sober By Grace homes.
Daily Meetings
Each Sunday will feature a state of the house meeting. Tuesdays feature Celebrate Recovery meetings, Wednesday Primary Purpose of Dallas will be joins us, and Thursdays feature a Biblical study. Fridays will include a worship service, message and/or
guest speaker, share groups separated by issues, and coffee and
desert via Celebrate Recovery @ Northwood Church!
Personal and social adjustment training
Residents will receive counseling and guidance during their stay at
our home. Further, we will have family sessions available as the residents become closer to fully transitioning back to "normalcy" in order to acilitate a smoother transition. We also offer relapse prevention, as well as a host of other recovery services.
